LTA,
They cased off the sandy reservoir at SNE-1 as they were chasing the deeper Carbonate play. As is the norm with P&A, the Operator would have filled up the 8.5" open hole with cement & set plugs prior to cutting the Casing off & removing the BOP etc. I dont know if they left it for re-entry, something none of their analysts asked Cairn thus far.
So, whatever Interference testing or Connectivity tracer tests r planned, will b at SNE2, 3 & B#1 & will depend on how well the main sands extend N-S without any lateral or vertical barriers. I doubt if they left any pressure gauges in last year's discovery well.
At Jubilee Tullow had a 5.5km spacing between their first 3 discovery wells & established early on the connectivity amongst the sands (although the reservoir sits in 5 sands in the Upper & Lower Mahagony sands with independent OWC).
Put it this way, if the sands at the edge of a structure r water wet, they can still drill a future water injector & flush the oil out thro' a Producer.
Also remember SNE's gasil ratio (GOR) is 650 scf/bbl (as per their CMD slideshow), so flowrates should b good in my view (Bopd & some mmcfd) & I'll b happy with say 110m gross & 40-45m net oilpay from SNE-2.
Just a pity the way the entire oil sector is at right now, same levels as Nov'08-Mar'09 GFC days.
I was flicking thro' my diaries, in particular a 2 year chart which defined the rise of Woodside's SP from Aug'02 to Aug'04. Was a total contrast (reversal, ie) to today's oil price. Their SP then tagged the POO rise from US25/bbl to US45/bbl when they were drilling Chinguetti & doing infill drilling at Legendre & Enfield & bringing some fields onstream.
PS: Jabiru had the taps turned off in Sep'10 after flowing 115 mmbbls over 24 yrs & 14 wells later.
