Mantle paid them and then Calcifer sold the company to new owners, the old owners of Calcifer have run off into the sunset with Mantle's cash and a big mess behind them. If Calcifer's case had any merit, the company would not have been sold and the original owners would be defending their claim.

This, as well as the revolving door of Calcifer's lawyers including the second change to make Mantle change their own representation due to a perceived conflict of interest and continual stalling and delays just shows these people for the opportunists they are.
