Imho you are reading far too much into your reading.

Didn’t see anything in your first article to support your comments, the second briefly skirted around low Cobalt batteries (which I suspect meant the NCM 811, which instead uses 80% nickel and only 10% cobalt). The third was a lightweight scan through a number of potential future chemistries still in the lab.

I am under no illusion nickel will always be central to batteries but it seems that for now it is required for good performance cathodes, although they seem to be using a lot of iron phosphate alternatives in China, although my understanding is that these batteries are only suitable where low range is acceptable?

Always worth keeping an eye on the alternatives, but nothing in your reading list seems to me indicative of any new risk.

Thanks for your input, That's good, I was hoping so. I had not heard of the "encasing silicon in the anode with graphene" type battery and wondered if this meant removing or reducing Nickel as I thought Nickel was mainly used in the Anode. Hopefully the increased demand for EV means proven technology is the only way to meet demand in the near future.
