What are your thoughts on tomorrow's results announcement?
I believe there are one of two ways it can go.
If they want the merger to proceed then the announcement will have to be clear of any losses or writedowns. The dividend will have to be above 20c per share and earnings will need to increase significantly.
The merger will be at risk if there are further writedowns or if earnings are not positive, why would we agree to a merger with an entity that is bleeding current shareholders dry. It would be best to split the trust up and give Northern Lights partners their business back. It will save us capital in the long run.
I believe the latter is a higher probability at the moment and will be the case for this announcement with potential for better next year.
