    That would obviously depend on when you bought / price.
    Someone that bought at $2.5 didn't do that well over the last few years.

    That stream of income gets taxed.... this may or may not affect you personally depending on your tax rate but is not for everyone if there is no capital gains.

    Not good enough to just "convert" tax free capital in hand into a taxable income stream..... just look at how poor investement TLS has been over the last 20 years vs any share that had at least some capital growth each year even if they only maintained a 1-2% dividend payout.

    After 20 years that 2% dividend payout share not only paid out more total dividend but you also have capital gains....way better investment for income AND capital.
    If WAM does not grow the in capital it will end up in the same position..... cannot just be paying nice divs.... has to grow.

    But yes, certainly better than a bank savings account at the moment.
    So you can do worse.
