It was quite amusing watching Advance Energy (AVD) go off like a rocket today. The buying was quite strong early this morning and it caught my attention when 1.7c was getting gobbled up quick smart. A little research showed that the company had settled on the sale of some assets for the impressive sum of US$11.3m.
That announcement was made on Monday of this week but obviously our panic stricken market didn't pay too much attention when the news came through. Some quick number crunching told me that there was at least 3c in value as a result of the sale, and although it was a rough guess on my part, it came through fairly accurate with highs of 2.9c being reached today.
The company was issued with a speeding ticket later in the afternoon and the reply said pretty much what I was expecting to be said. Previous announcements have been made on numerous occasion but the market has been ignoring them.
People have been asleep at the wheel!"
