Market cap is just # of shares x whatever the share price is on any given day.
When your company is not cash flow positive then most if not all of your sp is speculation about its potential not actual value.
So in that case I would say no, market cap is not a fundamental indicator.
Sp and volume can fluctuate for many reasons. That's why coys drop in and out of sub-indexes all the time.
