The volumes are crazy compared to normal trading (even allowing for the takeover conditions), there are 3 valid explanations for all the buying/selling at the moment.
1. Aegis or their affilitates are buying large amounts to gain more power in takeover negotiations, if this is the case I thought they had to declare their hand (continuous disclosure)? - this is what I think would be most probable scenario.
2. Hedge/Investment funds are buying with the hope of pushing for a higher price.
3. A potential rival bidder is buying to gain some power in putting up a rival bid or block the Aegis deal.
Not really certain how this will all unfold.
