why they would possibly require a trading half to present good news to market.
Going into a trading half for an earnings downgrade makes more sense. It gives them time to come up with an excuse or potentially shift the narrative to blame another party.
Regarding a possible downgrade, I would guess that it will be blamed on the manufacturers of Step One product, most of which are namely in China. [Assumedly the reader of this post would know the current situation with many major cities in China being in total lockdown].
