I have been talking to lot of people over the last two weeks and many have family members or friends that have just lost their jobs prior to the end of financial year....
Went to the local Big Meat Vendor out our way on Saturday an he is closing on Tuesday evening.....Been there for about 15 years..
He said he was making money on the Meat products......
BUT
The energy prices he has to pay now was eating into all of his Profits.... ( the only one making money in his business was the Energy Supplier )
Another guy i know owns a Big Sports clothing store at Parramatta CBD...... Said since March his business is down 90%....
Printing business laying off staff.
Two air Big air conditioning firms in trouble....1 most staff made to take all leave, long service or just suspended from work till things pick up..
The other air conditioning firm has made everyone take a 20% pay cut to save jobs at the moment....( which will not last long as things are getting worse out there for them)
Thousands being laid off in the Trucking and transport industries.... etc etc etc
Plus we all know about what is going on in the airline industry....
Dry cleaners laying off staff and reducing hours....
Its bad out there...
Solicitors reducing staff hours for admin work etc
The list just goes on an on and on.....
