    This biggest misconception about negative gearing is that it is not fair. It is perfectly fair as it does the following:
    1) Treats gains and losses equally
    2) Anyone can do it
    3) You can only negative gear if the asset has an expectation of making a profit in the future.

    You want to get rid of it then campaign for a flat tax system!
