mt gee is a dot on the map compared to the size of the national park.

Get it into perspective. A low impact, underground mine, in a tiny geographical corner of a vast area.

This is absolute sensationalism journalism, they extort the facts after a good headline.

And people on this thread are exasperpating the already cream of BS floating to the surface. The paper actually said 50-60 bags, and if they are drill hole bags they'd only be the size of a lunch bag, you know, less than the size of a kids footy.

    Thousands? BS.

Whoever said thousands is talking through their backside IMO. No cred.

And tailings? Haaa! What????? are they mining at midnight and dumping tailings? Yeah, this reporter knows his terminology.

I would suggest rather, IMO, by the number of bags, it is is simply the left over dirt from a drill hole refilled. And the bags used for this sort of thing are typically only about the size of a kids footy. What that are they supposed to do with the dirt that comes out of the drill hole, after filling the hole back up?

Ever dug a grave? You end up with spare dirt because it expands. So what would any responsible uranium company do. Bury the core dirts back where it came from. If that's what they've done, so what?

What were these wilderness socitey people doing with a spade digging up a meter of dirt?

These wilderness people are MA and Pa kettle, who declared their land a sanctuary. No different if you or I had a farm, and decided to say, its a cat sanctuary.

ASK yourself why a responsible company, who has vested years of interest, would suddenly act in a supposed reckless way? BS. You may as well give them a gun and say shoot yourselves in the foot. Reality is, they wouldn't.

What I'm trying to say, is forget what you read in the newspaper. Half of the time they are only interested in sensationalism, and are just after a headline.

DID you all note that the newspaper had to concede that "He said there was no public health threat. "

This will blow over. And when we all read the invesigation that Marathon by due dilligence have to do, are vindicated, and you'll probably only see it on the asx or the marathon web site, forget the papers, which of these downramping posters, or those genuinely caught in a BS current of fearmongering, will put their hand up and admit they over-reacted.

Well, if the vindication comes, expect me to repost this thread so those that want to lose their cred, will.

Go stand in a line with the greenies and chant "No Nukes" and bugger off.

And will the news papers ever, ever, ever publish a postive retort? "Marathon vindicated against sensationalist claims" No, Never. Why? Becasue they just want the big headlines which sell papers.

Now that i've got that off my chest, cheers, and have a lovely evening.
