It is obvious that we are all disappointed by the Share Price for FML, but it is not everything. It just says that at the moment more people want to sell than buy. But are they right?
I don't think so, which is why I am long-term holder.
Contrary to what others are saying, I see an extremely well-managed company, with a clear vision and strategy. Now, as always strategies can be adjusted as you go along, as long as they are in line with the objectives or the company. Taking advantage of a fire sale of CRE when Focus were sure they could run it at a profit was a change of strategy but still absolutely in line with the objective of growing aggressively into a rising gold price. I think we are starting to see that this strategy is working well with CRE.
If you don't want to be in a company which has that clear objective of aggressive growth, then go for a company with a small goal which will make a small profit.
This company will be big and will be making a large profit within two years, I believe. The Share Price should then reflect the size of the profit. It seems clear that many people (including brokers) have not understood this clearly stated objective and the strategy devised to achieve it.
Has the Board and Management communicated this adequately?
I would have to say No, which is why so many are unhappy.
It seems that they are far better miners than they are communicators.
I am hoping this is improving - that was a good clear communication this morning, but why not give us some guidance through the quarter on how production is going?
Is everything going to plan or better - tell us.
Has it been pouring rain or the Council is stopping our trucks going through the town - tell us.
We are big people, can take good or bad news and make our own decisions, just as we made our own decisions to invest our hard-earned in Focus.
Thanks to those who have offered informed opinions on the likely results for the quarter - I can't be as exact, but I believe there will be a significant surplus and that this will grow in coming quarters.
So, from me, congratulations to the management of Focus for the growth so far - please keep us informed of how you are going with our company. We are the owners, not the managers, not the directors, although I am glad that so many of them are also owners and share our dreams for this company.
