Since the 1980s our economy has been opened up pretty much. As long as a company can meet the policy requirements of the day they can buy our businesses. We are too small in the scheme of things to fund the sort of economic development that we want/need, thus the need for foreign investment. I don't like it from a purely nationalistic point of view but I have to trade that off against a better future for me, my family and, in particularly, my grandkids.
