That we feel joy for a child is instinctual programming. Even animals feel joy when having children. If this did not happen, who would look after helpless children who cannot do anything for themselves?

Nature has compassion built in. Millions of beings have children everyday. It is all automated natural programming yet we rejoice so much in a personal way thinking "I" did something amazing.
