There are a number of variables which drive the price of an option including the strike price compared to the spot price of the asset, the volatility of the asset, any dividends and funding costs of the asset and the expiry date of the option.
Implied volatility is volatility expected given where the option is trading. Lower the implied vol, lower the price of the option.
You need to understand how volatility impacts price as you can pick the direction correctly but if vol goes against you ( or time decay), you can still lose money.
Writing options means selling.
Read some more on options trading before dipping you toes in. You need to know the basics to have any chance of succeeding in that market in my view.
