Too my mind this talk of the "required trigger" is in most cases overstating ...
Looking back its often something that was already known about ...but the market had not yet reacted to that item.
For eg ..Currently the run of USA higher risk mortage brokers going broke could be at leat partially the trigger ...& this is well known ...it just hasnt caused a significant reaction yet.
The Japanese raising rates by .25% & potential carry trade ramifications is another item that cld easily be trotted out as "the reason"...after the correction has begun ...even though its out there already ....
It dosent have to be new news imo.
... almost as though some big players knew what day they were supposed too react.
