Thursday April 4 - Pink Star day

SPI Futures traded in a small 26 point range last night, with a high of 6279, low of 6253 and a close this morning of 6270, up 1 point on lowish volume of 9,275 contracts. Based on that range, my pivot point and R and S levels are below. One gap up at 6271, and gaps down below at 6261, 6142, 6239, 6238, 6219, 6215, 6209, 6206 and 6189, then a few more but that will probably do for today. DOW up .15 pct, SNP up .21 pct and Canada (resource driven) up less, at .10 pct. VIX up too, bucking the inverse correlation - up 2.85 pct to 13.74. All three Volatility indices were up. XJO up seven days in a row. Seven green daily bars. Must be close to some kind of a record, and like most vinyl records, can be broken.. humm.



Talking about records, today in 2017, the Pink Star diamond set a world record price of $71 million for a gem sold at auction in Hong Kong. Mined by De Beers in 1999 in South Africa, the gem weighed 132.5 carats in the rough and 59.60 carats as the finished gem. Hell of an engagement ring and a good way to impress your friends, although you may need to hang in around your neck and not on the finger. Maybe that's how the star Pink got her name.
