Seriously you have to laugh at the thought police. We mustn't be allowed to see or hear old measure like miles or feet etc.
I see a 27 metre whale was washed up.
Why 27?, because they obviously said it was about 80 feet long and 27 metres was the closest round metric figure they could use. Do you really think they pulled out a tape measure. Why not say 30 metres?
The other day apparantly we had 9 metre waves off the North coast. Could it be that that is 30 feet. Why not say 10 metre waves if you must.
A while ago I read about some old 30.3 metre tree standing somewhere. Any chance someone said the tree was 100 ft tall.
