September SPI futures expiration today, with probable games at the open till she flatlines around 10:30, closed this morning at 5950. December contract traded in a 41 point range, with a high of 5969, low of 5928, and a close this morning of 5938, down 13 points, on still rollover volume of 18,864 contracts. One gap on December from last night up at 5957.
Weakness in the US mega-cap stocks and the Fed saying rates to remain near zero through 2023 as inflation is expected to remain muted, saw the DOW up .13 pct, SNP down .46 pct, Nasdaq down 1.25 pct and Canada (resource driven) down .83 pct. VIX up 1.76 pct to 26.04. Have a nice day.
