Energe I see what u are saying as some charts on xjo show gaps to the prev close and yahoo clearly show this here so it does set up a different day count ;

My comsec charts never show a gap as the open is always the preceding days close .
The guy from incredible charts says this is the correct method but it can be argued either way I suppose .

The fact the market opens at 10.00 am and the first calculation isn't complete by then unless it counts overnight sales , jeepers it could be argued black and blue but neither here nor there to me .
