When people like Benanke make comments like he did and the markets drop as they did, I'm more inclined to go long during the old days when we were in a raging bull market. Now I'm not so sure. Perhaps he was trying to make the market let off some steam. Who knows what he really is on his mind. Perhaps he is clueless like the rest of us. Perhaps he knows something he doesn't want us to know. I don't care anyway. I just follow the short term trends. My only concern is what happens if and when the DOW finally breaks down below 10,000. Just in case I have some puts for insurance but I'm happy to let them expire worthless as I make more money day trading. I would hate to see the markets collapse suddenly - a slow decline fine but not a crash, please!
