There is a new video on Marengo's website which is long (two parts) but is worth watching as it gives a overview of community relations, the terrain and where they are heading.

Of interest in Part 2 of the video is an interview with a representative of Tiandilong Holdings who appear to be onsite for the purpose of assessing the project. The guy interviewed was Jia Ping Jiang.

Though google isn't necessarily reliable, searching for Tiandilong produces the following and the guy interviewed (Jiang Jiaping) appears to be their founder and CEO. Ill leave it to others to check if my recollection of his face and name in the video are correct.

Their website mentions a strategic intent to invest in future mines to support a smelter they are building.

Without putting in too much effort I pulled this from an "emergent resources" (ASX:EMG) release:

"INR is a privately owned, multi-national company. INR’s Chairman, Mr Jiaping Jiang, owns the private enterprise Jiangsu TianDiLong Group, one of China’s leading copper cable production companies. The TianDiLong Group had almost RMB 10.8 billion in sales in 2010 and is included in China’s top 500 manufacturers and also China’s top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises. The TianDiLong Group is currently building the Lianyungang Copper Processing Project, an 800,000 ton copper smelting facility in Jiangsu Province, China. The company is one of the largest non-ferrous products manufacturers in China."

There is also reference on their site to a Western Australian visit and Marengo:

Of course the interview in itself doesn't mean anything as far as investment and offtake. But the Tiandilong representative did at least seem serious in his intent to assess the project. Companies generally have a rotating door of visiting potential investors and customers and Marengo has mentioned playing host to un-nammed companies in its releases.

But its nice to have news that adds some colour to the ongoing story.
