As a follow on from the article on the 24th November Emmanuel Chive has posted an update which highlights that Spikenet technology is integrated into SmartCam, an AI vision product deployed by the French special forces (13th RDP) Link
The technology available in B-SAVED 2.0 sure sounds a lot like Brainchip Link
Abandoned sensors and spikes neurons
“A small addition to my article on AXONE, after having looped back to the director of ISL, Christian de Villemagne: I wrongly wrote that the FPGA was only designed by Global Sensing Technologies. In fact, the classifier is an ISL product, with GST integrating SpikeNet technology into AXONE. The SmartCam project uses this architecture (the maps being those used in the AXONE project).
Incidentally, this FPGA classifier technology capable of performing form recognition and developed by ISL was rewarded with the 2016 Prize of Engineer General Chanson (a prize awarded annually by the Armaments Association Terrestrial (AAT), reward for work leading to significant progress in the field).
In this case, it was a question of implementing this approach within an abandoned intelligent autonomous sensor called B-SAVED, with a autonomy of 4 days, and having, in addition to the on-board AI, a GPS and A communication module. The current version was developed for the 13th RDP.
This small rectification was worth mentioning. In addition to the innovations described, many other projects were presented at the forum (eg projects to detect and classify multispectral targets in infrared, vision beyond an obstacle by using photon multi-reflections, The fuel tank of the infantryman, a reservoir capable of withstanding the impact of a 12.7 mm bullet, or the automatic monitoring of brain waves (MEEGAPERF project) to detect the signs in cerebral activity Which make it possible to anticipate breaks in performance). But it will be for another time ...”-
