We are so used to instant gratification. And when we don't get what we want immediately every loudmouth shock jock and tough guy politician reckons they have a simple answer.

But they don't. They don't have any answers.

My biggest criticism of Andrews early on was that he was heavy handed with ordinary Victorians who provided little risk, and utterly clueless with the obvious high risk quarantine situation. A tough guy with decent people doing the right thing, and weak as wet lettuce with idiots doing the wrong thing. That's why so many are offside.

The way out for Victorians is to obey the rules, be patient and be kind to each other. The way out for Andrews is to manage key areas of risk better, talk to the Victorian public more respectfully, and listen. Especially to small to medium businesses. Solve or find strategies for their specific problems, minor though they may seem right now, and the economy will bounce back quicker in time.

Work as a team. Respect each other. Simple to say, but harder to do.
