From memory, I think deaths from gun violence also went down. In Australia flu deaths are down. Probably car accidents are down. Probably suicides and other deaths may be up. Domestic violence may be up.
I agree with you that you can manipulate data to cherry pick and find an argument for any case.
I consider that the virus is serious and should be considered as such.
I think that a vaccine is realistically going to be available by March. Given that belief I think it is worth holding out until then
If not we will have to learn to live in a different world.
I think that if the virus was rampant as it is in Victoria, deaths will be significant. economic costs would still be significant because a lot of people would not expose themselves.
No one knows the correct answer, but I am sure it is not with just ignore it.
