Going off-grid in suburbia

A couple in the southern Perth suburb of Beeliar have taken a step closer to realising their dream of an off-grid lifestyle.

Originally investing in a small 5kW grid-connected solar system to take advantage of the WA Government’s 47c Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme (REBS) – the recent loss of the rebate has meant a huge increase in their power bills for their small residential home.

This prompted our Beeliar couple’s decision to begin their move to a sustainable, off-grid lifestyle heading into their retirement years.

Working to a strict budget, RBSS was pleased to be able to design a system to meet the couples immediate needs and down the track as their budget allows – expand to go completely off-grid.

• 3 x Victron 8kVa Quattro Inverter/Chargers to supply the required 3-phase demands
• 2 x Redflow ZBM2 10kwh batteries with room for 2 more
