    tend to agree. I can only think the real reason for the merger is for Oxiana to get their hands on Zinifex's stash of cash. A mate of mine from Isa who has been in the mining game for 30 years at senior levels reckons zinc has only been any good a couple of times in the last few decades.
    I hope this strategy doesn't end up like the failed toro/nova merger at 80c.
    I don't know that all the faithful followers of Mr Hegarty (and there are a lot of them - me being one of them) will be as excited and enthusiastic about Mr Michelmore running the show.
    Oxr/Zfx will be the new "Western Mining".
    I am not sure that it will be such a boomer for shareholders as the hype suggests.
    OXR is a great company run by an exceptionally talented and committed group of professionals. Zinifex has a bucket of cash and ok zinc assets, but I am not a huge fan of zinc anyway.
    Pasminco had the zinc assets which cra/rio didn't want. Pasminco died an unnatural and ugly death.
    cautious about the merger.
