tiger airways stops selling tickets online

  1. 35 Posts.
TIGER Airways has stopped their online product sales after consumer regulator, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, warned the airline to stop ticket sales or it would face court action.

The airline has been banned from flying for a week until July 9 by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, but there is speculation that the struggling Tiger might not get back in the air at all.

On Tuesday night a Tiger spokesman said that following the five-day suspension of its domestic services by the aviation safety regulator, sales of tickets for flights have been temporarily suspended.

Tiger had continued selling tickets for flights beyond Saturday on the assumption some of its planes would be flying again by Sunday.

The spokesman said Tiger remains committed to the resumption of services at the earliest opportunity.
