I continue to be surprised by the posts on this thread.

Is it possible for one partner to be 100% wrong and the other perfect? Absolutely not! Is it healthy to play the blame game throughout your life? No.

Research shows the main reason affairs occur is because the ego is stroked. A strong person can rise above compliments and flattering remarks from a third party. Complacency can be the real killer in relationships based on romantic love. We would all agree that relationships need to be nurtured and be based on things like commitment, trust, mutual acceptance of differences etc.

The counsellor I refer to , was a Doctor who found he spent more time counselling his patients, so he trained further to specialise in family therapy. He also taught me there are two types of affairs; those with emotional involvement (which can be very harmful to relationships) and those without emotional involvement (like the one night stand. The counselling sessions I undertook with him made me realise: I wasnt 100% blameless, my husband was uncommitted, secretive and likely to reoffend. That was my ticket out of there.

    Regards

    Zeta
