It's just funny how it happened when Qantas was heading to GFC lows and were seriously worried about their future. Not many Australians would have shares in Tiger on the Singapore exchange so therefore would not be affected by them being grounded. VBA is listed on the Tiger Website with matching ridiculously cheap flights to all the major cities in Australia.

In my opinion someone with the muscle decided it was lets get rid of Tiger time or we will be the ones to go. It's purely a matter of kill or be killed for Qantas. Outing Tiger is just the beginning for Qantas after all they are Qantas and they aren't going to fall before some Singapore airline trying to muscle in on their territory.
