There is a big short interest still in gold itself in NY. Given that gold has just risen through US $1300 there is some very informed commentary that there could be a bit of a rush to short cover any time soon in gold itself. If that happens there could be a bit of a sharp run up in the price, or is that starting to happen already? There are some big profits to protect.
