You wanna make a bet. Averaging down on the crash was the best thing I have ever done!!! It made me squillions....
If the fundamentals have not changed averaging down is no brainer, because its only the herd mentality that drags the SP down. Like I keep on saying dont be one of the herds but let the herd make you money.
If I had stop losses on the crash I would have wasted funds on brokerage, and be out on my positions with a big loss. As you KNOW a SP does not incrementally go down on a crash, it goes down like falling of a cliff. So stop loss would have done nothing for you.
As well as being out of positions on good companies I would have had big losses. No way to recover. I rode March Bull run and the June Bull run and still enjoying it.
This strategy works for me. You have to be able to pick good stocks...
