You are probably right Tahi, that the Utica shale will be developed , some time, but when is the question.
It seems Mpo's acreage is in the most populated part of Quebec and its a bit like the situation that Metgasco find themselves in.
There are other parts of the Utica shale where there is less opposition and that looks like being given the go ahead first.
Also, the Quebec gov, own the hydro electric scheme there, so they may feel their revenue threatened by the availablity of cheap gas.

Here is the latest on the anti fracking bill. seems the opposition is against it and it needs their suppport to pass.
