If the words above about TIM were a mining assay they wouldn't even make road base!
Independant share investors are buying TIM and its collegue stocks not because they are greenies, revisionists or anything other than intelligent enough to look beyond the front window to the business model and its past track record.
The tax effective bluegum plantation management industry is highly regarded again as an investment opportunity because it is substantially favoured by government legislated incentives. As a result investors in the timber units get 100% tax deductions with a high probabilty of excellent returns down the track and company shareholders enjoy one of the highest levels of dividend tield of any sector on the ASX.
The fact that it is also therefore a target company for ethical and enviromental funds is simply another plus. Should the flagged 'carbon credit' system get off the ground then this would also provide a substantial (although at this stage completely speculative) bluesky upside.
Its that sort of completely uninformed comment that makes some of the serious contributors to this site wonder why they bother.
