You do realise that coal power stations have to be maintained, repaired, with major components replaced on a regular basis and also with constant mining to feed them?
The average life of a coal power station is 29 years and solar panels are 25 - 30 years. Of course maintenance cost is tiny by comparison as it is for wind too. That's why commercial interests are building wind and solar and have zero interest in coal or gas, they are unviable and fast becoming stranded assets even with all of our money being thrown at them to try to make it otherwise.
