Assuming it is true what's written in it, Nigel is doing all he can to win. Some of it may appear to be on the borderline of what is legal. However, having read the article, it is clear that he has not broken any laws...and that's what counts.
And the fact that he was operating on the borderline of what's legal and what's not...That's good - shows he was going as far as he possibly could.
So....nobody has anything on him....so all is good
Nigel is a top bloke, we need someone 100% committed and aggressive like him to fight for us and get things done. How else is one supposed to fight powerful Chinese with their limitless supply of brown paper bags? He has no choice but to push the envelope, imo.
