the 5G network, if it goes to plan, will be operational at earliest in 2020, so all Telstra can do in the meantime is just sit back and watch dwindling margins.

so how can they fix this?

my take is way left of field- why not borrow money at very low current interest rates, and buy back enough shares to make the EPS respectable? it's not so much the lower divvy that is the perceived problem with TLS, but rather the lack of EPS growth.
