time for a new computer???

O.K guys

I've previously posted how crap my computer was and it was about time I got a new one...

I was waiting until the NBN is connected in my area which is now only a few months away..

Any, some questions.

Does the speed of the computer (i.e 1.8 ghz, RAM, dual core processor etc) affect the speed of the ethernet (internet). I wouldn't have thought so...

Therefore I feel: As my family have other methods of using the interwebs (i.e tablets) and as I will only need the computer for my children's schooling and some general basic work, then maybe I should just settle for a cheap one...

Won't be playing any serious games...
