"I would love to see a democratic system based on the Swiss model". ........ direct representation is a major paradigm shift that the teal indis are saying they will begin to introduce with direct involvement of electorate populace in MP decision making. Many have said they will consult widely with the electorate on decisions and will balance popular representation with expert opinion and communicate with eh electorate wrt decisions made including the evidence and advices received in their decision making.
we have to remember though that FNQ, or any other electorate, opinion is not always the right decision. some people don't base their opinions on evidence or research but more on gut feeling, eg loyalty to coal/gas.
this is what I've been wanting to see happen and I'm so damn happy with the current movement.
