You're dead right Ocker........my mistake....the devaluation of the Aussie against the Swiss Franc more than outweighed the interest rate differential. It was all in the contracts between Westapc and the farmers but the ruling was made due to the "spirit" underwhich contracts or deals were done. ie the farmers thought they had entered into a riskless, I guess, arbitrage type situation. How wrong they were. But this wasn't at all explained to them adequately.......sounds familiar hey.
