2004 i dont know how you talk in daily life but i use those terms all the time in non desperate ways. Such as ‘I would like a beer’, ‘personally I would like to see india get bowled out today’, ‘im hoping that my boss doesn’t come back from his lunch meeting so I can leave early’ and ‘there should be better weather this weekend’. Nothing personal but get over yourself
Plus you cant speak definitively here because we don’t know what is going to happen. So saying things like ‘I would like to see’ ‘I am guessing’ is perfectly normal. I cant say the core samples WILL be awesome, because I just don’t know.
