Hi Pete, depending of what you mean by the big end of town, a lot of them are already in. They had 12 months to mop up while the sp stayed in that sweet zone. You can aggregate the trading volume since April 2013 to work that out.
IMO, any serious buying now (unless a final mop up on huge volume - timing has to be right - hard to do in an information blackout) could be self-defeating as the sp would spike like silly and selling would constrict as everyone holds on in anticipation of the re-rating events(now that we are at the pointy end of the cycle - in the home straight - as opposed to being 12 months ago). Harvesting or accumulating at the lowest price possible is still the optimal method - the biggest bang for the buck.
The thing here that will make us potentially very well off is not the big end of town nudging the sp higher (it would make us feel good no doubt). The key is the competitive tension of bidders (Chinese and non-chinese) for the assets and offtake agreement. GC/CJ should take all the time necessary to maximize shareholder outcome.
