My old pappy used to say - "you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter"
I think what he meant by that is, you can't pretend a turd isn't a turd (eg the SP is tanking and there ain't no denying that), but you can reframe that turd as being something less objectionable than garden-variety excrement (eg .... but don't worry the collapsing SP is all part of a master plan).
