"If nickel is a typical catalyst for the production of Hydrogen and CNTs from Methane at $1,000/mt but you can produce the same results using Iron at $50/mt."
"Is there any chance that your resulting CNTs would cost less then others to produce?"
The EDE process was originally designed to produce hydrogen not CNT. The CNT was only discovered as a byproduct. From a chemical engineering perspective you would expect it to be less efficient and more expensive than an optimal process designed to produce CNT.
Hydrolysis from methane typically produces a lot of soot and other impurities and relatively little CNT. It can be very expensive to separate and purify the CNT.
