EDE is actually endorsing UQ and Monash by providing funding.
The American (federal) government has nothing to do with EDE. The Georgia state government is offering subsidies in return for promising 250 jobs [Which is a completely standard practice in Georgia.]
Judging by the 50% fall over the last couple of months I think the smart money saw the recent EDE announcements as a fantastic P+D opportunity. I suspect it will keep falling slowly until EDE releases some more really outstanding hype later in the year (quickly followed by a CR).
