Exhausted soil..?? Why are yields continuing to increase then if the soil is so buggered? Nasty chemicals? Fertilizer? If food is so bad for us why are we living longer.
Anyway, I'm getting fed up with all this crap. And now emissions trading? How do people think the worlds farmers have tripled production in the last 50 years from less land and more marginal land? Let em all turn the screws up on us. I'd love to see all agriculture turn organic. I could grow probably a third of what I do now, but so would every other farmer, and the price would go through the roof. it wouldn't go up by 3 times, it would go up by factors of ten.
I dare anyone to ban fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides GM foods, roundup. Farmers will be the only winners.
Bring it on. The worlds farmers need lower food production, then we might all make a quid.
