This trial was only for 26 weeks and the placebo effect lasted 26 weeks. In fact the placebo patients improved from week 12 to week 26, I did not expect that. Sometimes PD patients can feel better on one day verses another so maybe that is what happened ?, with such a small sample we may never know.

I was always concerned that 26 weeks may not be long enough to erase any placebo effect and in my opinion my worst fears came true.

I find it hard to believe that a placebo effect can last 130 weeks. When the four patients from the first trial find out that the second trial has been a failure, I wonder if that will have an impact on their improvement ?
