The governor of Georgia said he only just learned people who have coronavirus but are not showing symptoms can spread the disease, but the CDC and even Georgia’s own department of public health have been warning of asymptomatic transmission for months.
And slides from Georgia’s own Department of Public Health presentation on February 11 by Georgia’s State Epidemiologist and Chief Science Officer Cherie Drenzek said “instances of asymptomatic transmission have been documented,”
Announcing the order, Kemp said: “Those individuals could have been infecting people before they ever felt bad, but we didn’t know that until the last 24 hours”
