Learning critical thinking and sharing it with my parents has lead to a lifelong wonderful relationship with them.
It's a broad sweeping statement but I reckon education is the key to everything.

The concept of questioning 'conventional wisdom' is germane to humans flourishing.

As for ill discipline as you refer to it...
